Janet Lindsay Bio

I am a graduate of Baylor University with a degree in Speech Pathology and post grad work in elementary education. I am beginning my 18th year of teaching at First Woodway Christian School. I started the year my youngest daughter was in the 1st grade. We were only a preschool then.

It has been a wonderful journey growing with this fabulous school. After teaching 3 years of PreK we added Kindergarten so I moved up with the children. Three years later we added 1st grade and I moved on with them. I love this age of growing and changing by leaps and bounds! It is amazing to participate in their growth during their 1st grade year. I love having class sizes that allow me to really know my students as individuals and spend time with each one of them each day. It is fascinating to participate with them as they read, write and discover new things each day. It is such a privilege to be allowed to share God’s Word with them and pray with them each day.

I have been married to Tom, who is an accountant for Baylor, for almost 34 years. We have been members of FBC Woodway where we teach Sunday school and sing in the choir for our entire married life. We have 3 precious daughters, who are married to 3 wonderful young men, and 3 amazing grandchildren!

Kylie and Ronny Higgins, parents to Hudson, Avery and Eli, live in Waco. Ronny is the youth pastor at Highland Baptist Church and Kylie is a full time mom. Annesa and Gabe Scott live in Houston. Gabe is an investment analyst and Annesa is an Early Childhood Intervention Specialist. Emily and Thomas Field live in Tulsa, OK where he plays minor league baseball. Emily is a licensed Zumba instructor.

Outside of school, I like to hang out with my family, take walks, watch baseball and Baylor basketball and read. I’ve been on 8 mission trips and have climbed the tallest sand dune in the world in Nambia, Africa.
