Jenny Jantz bio

My name is Jenny Jantz. This marks my fourth year to teach Pre-k 4s at FWCS. Yippee! My husband, Loren, daughters, Payton (4th grade) and Kenzie (2nd), dog, Tulip (mini schnauzer), and I moved from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Waco in August 2007. I am not a traditional educator. I have a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!) and a master’s degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. Prior to our move, I was an active, involved “stay-at-home-mom.” In August 2008, I felt God calling me into teaching and was blessed with the opportunity.

I LOVE teaching 4 year olds! It is absolutely my favorite age because the children are truly blossoming. They are becoming more independent. They have ideas and opinions. They are expressive and creative. They are communicating and interacting with their peers. They are eager to learn and thrilled to try new things. They have no boundaries. They really can do and be anything! It’s my job to encourage them as they learn , to love and nurture them, and to provide them with every possibility for success. In fact, I believe having a positive preschool experience lays the foundation for a child’s future educational success. If they are happy, interested, engaged, and positively affected now, they will more likely be excited to continue to learn in the years to come.

Outside of teaching, I spend time volunteering at my children’s school, South Bosque Elementary, coleading a Brownie Girl Scout troop, leading a 4th grade girls small group at First Baptist Woodway, serving as Second Grade Secretary for FBW’s AWANA program, and coaching my daughter’s basketball team. I enjoy watching and playing sports, working out, traveling, scrapbooking, and spending time with family and friends. I love Disney World, the ocean, white sand beaches, warm sunshiny weather, Kansas Jayhawk Baskteball and Baylor Lady Bear Basketball. Most importantly, I am a Christian striving to grow in my faith and walk with God every day.
