Melissa Davis Bio
Each day God makes new and I am overwhelmed at the blessings He surrounds me with. I was raised in a Christian home and baptized as a child. I married my best friend and have three beautiful children, a daughter (20) and two sons (12 & 8), who are the joy of my life. My pets are part of my family and are just as spoiled as the kids. I currently have an aquarium with African Cichlids, a Black Lab mix dog (Missy) and a little bitty (>4 lbs) longhair Chihuahua (Amberly). (In addition, we own an old car (78 Z28 Camaro), that is and will always be “part” of our family, hehehe).
Some fun facts about me include: I love spending time with Christ, learning more about Him and how He wants me to live through His word and sharing that with others. I love smiling, joking, having fun and being silly with family and friends. I enjoy watching movies, being creative, doing arts and crafts, scrapbooking, designing and developing web pages, Zumba, Zumba and more Zumba, drinking McAlister’s tea, and teaching pre-school.
I received a BA in Psychology from Baylor University in 1997. After graduating, God began placing it on my heart to become a teacher. The more He led me into teaching, the more I wanted to teach Preschool. I received my teaching certification through Region 10 in 2001 in the area of General Elementary. However, God had another plan for me. He led me straight into Special Education. I received my Special Education Certification and taught 3 years in an elementary Resource Classroom and then a year in a Behavioral Modification Classroom. I continually poured out my desire to teach Preschool to God; and, I strongly feel that He has rewarded me for following His instruction. “Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 NIV. Working at First Woodway Christian School is an incredibly wonderful place to work and share God’s love. I am so blessed everyday by our students, parents and all of the staff. What an awesome feeling to be part of His plan!
